My students need supplies such as Clorox wipes, lotion, paper towels, and hand sanitizer for a clean shared space that will allow them to spend more time in the library.

My school is made up of a very diverse population. My library serves students in kindergarten through sixth grade.
Our school is filled with scholars who hunger to expand their mind using technology and books in a safe and clean environment.
My goal as the Librarian is to use a wide range of tools to engage the students and make the books come to life. Reading should be interactive and fun. The library is the center of learning in our school. It encourages the love of reading and the search for knowledge. I want my students to be able to use the library for reading as well as life-long information seekers.
My students are ready to learn and love to work with their hands. More and more students enter school each year with emotional issues. We are a high poverty area and many of our students face many stresses in their lives that affect their performance in school. So I intend to make the library more a place conducive to learning and investigation. I want these students to feel safe and most of all love learning.
The library is a space that is utilized by all the students and staff in the building, so there is a lot of sharing happening. With the weather changing, we need to continue sharing knowledge and not germs. We need this space to be clean and welcoming to all students in order for our students to continue to be engaged. I am asking for materials such as Kleenex, disinfecting wipes, and hand sanitizer to keep the library clean and germ free. Students will have access to these items. The Clorox wipes will be used to wipe off areas that are used frequently. It is extremely important for students to be in school. If students are sick they aren't able to come to school. These materials will make it possible for my students to be more germ free.
Learning takes place in the classroom; trips to the bathroom for tissue and hand sanitizer make it harder to stay engaged.
We learn better together and in a shared environment. All of us are part of the learning process, so we need make sure it is a clean environment.
