The LHS off-season Strength and Conditioning Program specializes in holistically developing student-athletes in Grades 9-12. These students are physically and mentally training to compete for the Football and Baseball Programs at the Freshmen, Junior Varsity and Varsity levels.
Embracing the mindset that every athlete is training to win both on the playing field and ultimately in the game of life, the physical and mental development of each student is intentionally scaffolded in a systematic 5 phase program that spans the entire length of the off-season.
The student-athletes crave the ultimate 12 minute fourth quarter challenge that concludes each workout.
My Project
Each workout for the LHS Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity Football and Baseball Teams will be positively impacted through the use of these added resources, which will all further support and enhance the 5 phase mission of the off-season program to build physically and mentally tougher athletes who learn to embrace each challenge on the playing field. The medicine balls will provide a variety of functional strength based exercises to superset traditional weight training. The speed and power sleds will enhance the explosiveness of each student-athlete and provide resistance to their speed work. The rope will be used for team building tug-of-war challenges that also stretch the mental and physical toughness of each athlete.
