I teach 3rd grade at a poverty school. Our school is on free lunch program. We are located in a rural community.
Curious, energetic, and creative; my students are eager to learn.
They need something to catch their attention. Using video subscriptions like Flocabulary is an awesome way to keep my students' attention and even enjoy their time learning about parts of speech, math, and reading comprehension strategies. In an effort to reach students of all learning styles and interests, this subscription provides one more tool in the teacher toolbox to capture the attention of students for learning.
My Project
My students get so excited for learning when music is involved. They need a subscription to Flocabulary to enrich their learning.
Imagine an interactive website where students can learn multi-sensory approach of using music, rhythm and rhyme.
Music facilitates memorization and recall of academic content, while the use of hip-hop and other culturally-relevant media increases student engagement.
Flocabulary has standards-based videos, instructional activities, and student creativity tools to supplement instruction and develop core literacy skills.
I am also requesting two books: Today I Feel Silly & Other Moods and How are You Peeling? I will use these texts as strong examples in teaching narrative writing so students will be more specific instead of general.
Your spirit of giving will give my students a chance to learn on their own, reinforce concepts related in all areas of the curriculum, and most importantly, have fun while learning!
