My Students

I get to teach the littlest Pre-K kiddos all the way through the big 4th graders. I so enjoy the enthusiasm that my younger students show through their singing and exploring of sounds, made with their voices and their instruments. My bigger kiddos are more reserved, but no less excited to explore and master new skills in music. Performing in front of others, especially peers, is a very hard thing to do, but daily my students summon the courage to show others what they have learned. Though I'm the educator, my students constantly teach me knew things. Their creativity inspires me to think outside the box and try new stuff. Our Wildcats Rock!

My Project

Music is wonderful to listen to and enjoyable to watch someone play, but making it yourself is an indescribable feeling. Having enough instruments in a classroom is a challenge, especially in the middle of a pandemic when we are trying to clean everything in between uses. That time we spend cleaning, so that everyone can have a turn, takes away from the students hands-on experience and growth.

The best learning is done by doing.

Have plenty of instruments for my students to work with will provide them with that "doing" opportunity.
