My Students

The students for this project all have special needs. Despite their challenges, they love coming to school. They live to learn! They are eager, they are sweet, and they warm my heart. Due to their disabilities, it is not safe for them to participate in PE with their peers. Fortunately, our school has a Specially Designed PE Coach who comes each day to provide appropriate and safe activities for these children. Sadly, what we do not have is a shady spot. We are in Florida where even at 9 am, it is often hot and humid. I would love for the kiddos and the coach to have 3 canopy tents to seek shelter under while still having a great time with their friends at PE. Please help!

My Project

No one likes to stand in the intense Florida sun without shade. Yet my school has no safe space for students with special needs to participate in their PE class. These are students with Down Syndrome or Autism who cannot appropriately participate with their non-disabled peers during PE. Sadly, the space they use for PE is not shaded. The coach and I would greatly appreciate if you could fund this project. We are requesting 3 canopies that could help shade the children from the sun. Thank you for your consideration and for helping me advocate for these fabulous and beautiful children.
