In our magnet school, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, my students deserve every opportunity that I can provide to learn more about real-life experiences that they might not get at home. My students enjoy hands-on experiences in science, reading, math, technology and writing.
My students are eager to make real world connections and to learn new things each day.
I want to give them as many opportunities with new technologies as I can before they go to Junior High. I want to increase vocabulary and encourage life-long learning in these students. My students are amazing and eager to experience life through projects, trips, and technology.
My students will learn more about entrepreneurship and financial literacy through community service projects. These sewing machines will allow my students to participate in projects for Arkansas Children’s Hospital and other projects that my students create. There have been many community service projects that we could use these machines to create products. My ACE students participate in a business plan competition each fall. These machines could be a valuable resource for teams to create actual products to take to competition. Students will make decisions such as materials needed, costs, pricing and more. Sewing is a skill that many of my students have not learned yet! This will help us in and out of the classroom.
