Sewing Machines for Stars!

My students need 2 sewing machines to help create and modify costumes for our winter play and spring musical productions.

My Students

Become a STAR by supporting a STAR! We are in our second year of running a Theater department and need your help to make our productions stage worthy!!

Our students our talented and driven performers who want to shine on stage.

We support students from all financial backgrounds who don't have the means to seek out acting opportunities on there own and enjoy the free programs we have created for them. Our student involvement has doubled in the last year, thus stretching our meager budget. We would like to start broadening our student opportunities to include set and costume design but need help with equipment cost.

My Project

We are looking to create a workshop for costume design. We have re-purposed computers for research and have collected old clothes for the student to manipulate. But, without sewing machines we can not move forward with this opportunity. We are looking to start with basic sewing machines in the hope the the growing interest of the workshop will allow us to attract more funding from other organizations.

When I was a student, sewing was a skill mandated by educational institutions.

All students learned the basics of sewing. Since the rise in technology education sewing has become a skill that is no longer seen as viable. I think it is a skill all student should learn in able to function in today's world.
