My Students

In my classroom, we strive to build confidence and a sense of pride in each and every student. I fully believe that every child has the skills, talents, abilities, and strengths, which deserve to be showcased. The students in my class work hard to improve themselves and the world around them.

My students enjoy a variety of community service projects in my classes.

Students look forward to these projects and enjoy sharing their experiences with others. This year I have over 60 students throughout the day and they are all very excited to participate in service-learning projects. Many of my students are also involved in our FCCLA chapter and are building skills to improve their futures by becoming better leaders for our communities, families, and careers.

My Project

The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students have a very specific use. They need denim fabric, fabric shears, thread, velcro, and patterns. Every year students are excited to complete a service learning project in the FACS classrooms. All of the classes work together to complete different parts and students work diligently to make sure that all the pieces come together. This year the students want to create walker organizers for the senior citizens, who are living in the nearby assisted living facilities and nursing homes. Each organizer will be delivered with a hand-written letter from a student who helped to make it.

The donations to this project will give my students a chance to make a gift for a senior citizen in the community.

This gives students an opportunity to build relationships with older generations. The student letters will encourage communication across the generational gap! Every student will be able to help create these organizer bags and deliver them to the senior citizens and to write letters to the senior citizens as well. This project is truly an example of the charity that we want to encourage in all of our students.

Thank you!
