This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school serves students grades Pre-K through 5th. My school is located in an area of Arkansas that could be considered in need of repairs. More than 90% of our students are on a free or reduced rate lunch program.
Because money is in short supply, I am always looking for ways to help bring exciting new materials into the classroom.
My students have limited experiences, so projects like these help me make learning come to life. These experiences will help my students develop a love for learning.
My Project
My students absolutely love books by Dr. Seuss! Each March, we celebrate Dr. Seuss by having a birthday celebration for him! We eat cake, read books by the author all day long, and dress up as characters from the books! We need supplies to make our party look festive! We are requesting bookmarks, hats, pencils and pencil sharpeners, a photo booth cutout, table cloths, party ware, and more so our party will be a huge success! We are also requesting decorations for our windows and bulletin boards to make our hallway festive for the occasion! Help us celebrate literacy by donating to this project!
