In a few weeks I will be opening my classroom doors to a group of 24 four year old students. Some have been in a school, but for many it will be their first experience in a school setting.
These students come into a classroom not knowing what to expect but most definitely need to feel comfortable, happy, and safe.
They need to know that learning is not only important but fun and enjoyable. Having all their needs met is very important.
My Project
Each student is unique and have different ways of learning. In our Title 1 school we base our classroom curriculum to meet each students needs.
After being in the classroom for 19 years I would like to change my room from standard chairs and allow my students an option on where they would like to sit and work.
Having all my students feel comfortable and safe in my classroom is important. Some students may feel the need to wiggle will and have the option to sit on wiggle stools. Some students may like to sit closer to the floor and will have the option to sit on cushions. I look forward to having seats that provide comfort for all my students so they enjoy their learning experience.
