As a third grade, inclusion teacher in Chelsea, Massachusetts, it is my passion and my job to awaken joy, inspire creativity, and facilitate a love of learning for all of my students. With varying interests, personalities, and learning styles, my students constantly challenge me to be a better teacher and a better person.
"It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge." -Albert Einstein
The surrounding community of Chelsea is culturally rich and sometimes challenging, engaging a sense of responsibility to develop my students' minds and habits. Their resilience, energy, humor, and hunger for knowledge fuels my own, as I strive to create a positive, rigorous, and fun learning environment to set my students up for success--in third grade and beyond!
We are gearing up for another school year! Every teacher knows just how important the first few moments, days, and weeks are for building relationships, establishing routines, and orienting students to their new learning environment. It is also a time for students to get excited about third grade; it is certainly a special year of growth and learning in any child's development.
These supplies will help students feel welcome and organized as they begin a new school year!
The desired reading bags, individual pencil pouches, and write & wipe pockets will help me to establish learning and homework routines and model the organization needed for third grade as my students become more responsible, independent learners. The other two technology items will be an asset for both the students and for me, as the earbuds will allow students to work and research independently on their ChromeBooks and the presentation clicker will make my mini-lessons more fluid and engaging on my projector. It's truly the "little things" that make a classroom run smoothly and allow students to feel special and welcome.
