Setting The Stage For Learning

Help me give my students a place to work by making my classroom multi-purpose. My classroom doubles as a rehearsal space and is home to a variety of classes.

My Students

In my classroom I hope to inspire students with a love for great literature and writing! As a result students read the classics in the context of their history classes. My students range from 6th grade Writing Lab students systematically learning the parts of speech and conventions of language to 11th grade World Literature students reading the works of great authors such as Aristotle, Shakespeare, Dickens, and Wilde. I also teach high school electives and theatre classes.

My students are creative thinkers and writers.

English and History courses align so that students bring into their English classes what they are learning about in their History studies. This interdisciplinary approach enriches the students' encounter with both subjects as they integrate a study of history with great literature.

My Project

These tables allow for a flexible seating arrangement for my students. I will be able to easily set up these tables in rows for a grammar lesson or arrange them in a horseshoe shape for a socratic seminar. They can also be moved easily to make space for a classroom stage for performance both for my literature classes and for our after school drama club.

With these tables I will be able to create the space my students need both in the classroom and in our after school offerings.
