My classroom is full of diversity with students that have many different needs and learning styles. We have students who have been without their loved ones for months at a time because of military deployments. On the other hand, we have families who move from home to home due to their low socio-economic status. With such a diversity of students, it is amazing to see how they adapt to one another and the new situations they face each and every year. These students are truly amazing.
My Project
We are currently in need of new technology! The iPads we use now are going to become obsolete this fall, meaning they won't be compatible with any current internet browsers because of their age and system requirements.
Over the last five years, we have become much more tech savvy in my classroom in order to prepare students for the future fast approaching.
With these laptops, students will no longer be limited to using encyclopedias, notebook paper or sharing computers. Students will be using the computers in many different subjects like science, social studies, math, reading, and writing. Researching a paper will no longer take an extra trip to the library or waiting for a computer spot to open up because, with these laptops, most of my students will have one available to them. When students finish their research, they will be able to then publish their findings on Google Classroom, a feature I am hoping to expand on.
These laptops can help so many students because they can connect them to their peers and me any time of the day through Google Classroom.
