My students need specific items, such as aprons, chef hats, safari-themed items, crowns, tiaras, detective hats/badges, and decorations to create room transformations and to set the stage to engage.
My students are active and expressive and love hands-on learning. They come to school excited to see what we will be learning, and they are eager to explore and ask questions. They bring joy to teaching and keep me on my toes!
Our school is nestled in a very blue collar community where most parents have to work outside the home.
My students love it when learning comes alive and when they are active participants in their learning. It is a blessing to be able to teach students who are inquisitive and excited about learning!
My Project
All of my students enjoy being an active participant in their learning. I would like to give them a full sensory experience when we learn about Fairytales, Mysteries, Force and Motion, and Author's Purpose, to name a few of our units we cover.
I want them to experience these units with all of their senses and for learning to become something they can see, hear, taste, smell, and touch.
I would like to "Set the Stage to Engage". Which means I want to transform our classroom into a Magical Kingdom where students where crowns and have wands and can hear medieval music in the background and see twinkling lights all around the room. Another example would be transforming our room into a NASCAR racing event when learning about force and motion. Or when we're learning about the Mystery genre, students are solving a crime and act as detectives with detective badges and our room has crime scene tape all around.
