My Students
As we begin this new school year, the 3rd graders in my classroom are eager to learn! Their excitement for knowledge has been contagious, and I can't wait to see where their imaginations take us this year. In our classroom community, we believe in the power of yet. We believe that everyone has something to contribute and that mistakes are proof that we're trying.
My class consists of 23 amazing 3rd Graders.
Of those 23, four are English learners. They are all working on having a growth mindset and strive to do their personal best to contribute to our classroom community.
My Project
How do you remember your school days? If your mental images include rows of desks in a classroom with sterile white walls and a teacher who sat at their desk in the front of the room all day, then our classroom would surprise you!
I work very hard to create a learning environment that is fun and engaging for all my students.
I believe that students must WANT to be invested in their learning experiences in order for the magic to happen. Therefore, I plan to create room transformations each quarter in order to bring new and exciting ways to present content to my students. Book Tastings will be held twice this year, where our classroom will be turned into a restaurant and students will be able to "taste," or read, new books from various genres! In order to transform our classroom, we will need red checkered tablecloths, tea lights and candles, chef hat for the teacher to wear when "serving" the various genres of books, service bell to ring when table seatings will switch, and serving trays to hold the books. I believe that with these materials, my students will experience reading as an enjoyment and continue the effort of instilling life long learners.
