Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are twenty-first century English Language Learners whose learning is very much technological in scope and limited in nature. Their personal barriers to learning include never having the experience or opportunity of seeing a love for reading in their own homes. Such a mindset requires out of the box teaching, visuals, project-based learning and high-interest resources.
My students are urban students whose second language is English.
They need help to visually connect to learning, especially since they will be learning virtually. They desperately need high interest, 21st-century resources that will put learning in their grasps.
My Project
My students are facing many obstacles with virtual learning. Now, more than ever, they must have interactive visuals, and opportunities to see learning explained in a whole new way. With a dry erase board, they can see charts, graphic organizers, participate in shared reading and writing, and have an interactive experience.
With the dry erase board and notepad, I can write a concept and project it to my computer for students to virtually see.
Students will be able to interactively understand the concepts by using what is projected and adapt it to their own learning simultaneously. The headset with a microphone will ensure that the students will hear the instruction.
