My students are from a high-poverty Title I school in Alameda County, California. They are multicultural and multilingual. Many of them don't get much support for learning at home, as their parents may be struggling to just make ends meet. Their work schedules might not allow them much time with their children.
Many of the students struggle to learn English during the school day.
Many of them receive free breakfast and lunch at our school cafeteria. The kids have many challenging situations in their lives, but all of them deserve a great education and a top quality learning environment. DonorsChoose.org can help.
These Fire Tablets will allow my students to access the many learning apps now available on Amazon. We will use apps for learning sight words, writing letters and numbers, listening to and reading leveled books, and watching educational content from sites such as PBS Kids.
Students get so excited about learning when we use technology to bring them the educational content.
They may be playing a "game" but they are learning and have a great time at the same time. These tablets will bring them many such fun learning games with apps such as Sight Words Puppy Dash, Dr. Seuss Reading, Raz-Kids, Starfall, and so many more.
