Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The new school year is starting, and with it some new things need to be replaced in my room. The Method cleaners from last year are gone, so new ones are needed to keep the desks germ free. My white board is used everyday, and that needs to be cleaned as well, so the EXPO cleaner will be helpful there. Pencils... my 8th graders go through pencils like crazy! They prefer lead pencils because they won't get smaller as they get used up. Stools will be used for one on one time up at my desk to clarify unclear ideas. New Graphic Novels and book marks will help us start off our Million Minutes Reading Challenge again this year!
I was their teacher in 7th grade and got to be their teacher in 8th grade too!
My students treat my room like it's our home. We spend much of the day together, learning, creating, and sharing our space. They love to help keep our room tidy, a new sweeper will help keep our carpet clean. They get super excited when I open a new pack of bookmarks that they get to choose for silent reading or they can choose a new graphic novel to read. They especially love to sit by my desk and get that one-on-one help when needed new stools will allow for them to be comfy while getting extra help! My students loved last year using the Method cleaner spray at the end of each day to keep our room smelling fresh and germ free! I have created a reading nook with a carpet that will need sweeping, which my students will be more than happy to help with. I love that they consider my classroom their second home and they treat it as their own.
