Creative, inspirational, and passionate are only a few words to describe this incredibly talented group of leaders. Students enrolled in my leadership class are given the opportunity to plan, develop and implement ideas to benefit our school, while learning about leadership styles, etiquette, professionalism and more.
I love that my students are a blend of backgrounds and abilities, but they come together to achieve our leadership class motto, which is "to rise by lifting others”.
I am excited to see the projects come to fruition that the students have been working so diligently on. We are greatly appreciative of your support and look forward to giving back to our school through the business initiatives.
My Project
My students' have developed a plan to benefit our entire student body by delivering business tutorials and school announcements through JSB TV. Statistics show that one area of weakness of our students entering the workforce is "soft skills." JSB TV will allow students to train peers on workplace readiness skills and further develop their public speaking, design, and editing skills. To support the financial needs of this brand new studio, my students have devoted many weeks to developing a business plan for Battle Blend, a coffee and pastry shop. They plan to practice newly learned business skills through the operation of this business, while "serving inspiration" to the student body.
The leadership team's ultimate goal is to provide their peers with on-the-job experience, while establishing self-funding for the news studio.
This generation of students faces a very competitive job market where work experience during high school will help give them a step up. To successfully launch this business, they are hoping to purchase a Keurig K-Cafe Special Edition coffee machine with cappuccinatore - nickel. One of their goals is to serve specialty drinks in order to attract a larger customer base. They also hope to offer a special "blend" of drinks, so they are asking for a Frigidaire FFPS3133UM - refrigerator/freezer - freestanding - silver. This will help them store creamers and cold items required to make these specialty drinks all year long.
