My Students

My students are energetic learners. Their love for learning is always evident. The students that I teach are heterogeneously grouped ranging from general education, special education, and ELLs. More than three-fourths come from low-income households. We are a small school with a big heart.

My students always amaze me.

Their ability to adapt to any situation is inspiring. We do not have an art room, science room, auditorium, or gym. Although we are used to making the best of our small space, I feel that the students would thrive if given these resources.

My Project

This month I will challenge my students to participate in community service projects. We learn about community service and plan things we can do to make our communities a better place. Once the students begin to do their service activities, we will use the cart and folders to store our artifacts and highlight our work. I want the students to be present their work and proudly display their achievements in the classroom. The paper and cutouts will be used to create a bulletin board. On the bulletin board will be a magnetic wall file where people can leave comments and suggestions regarding the activities. Teaching students to be good citizens by helping their neighbors and communities is a great way to create productive future citizens.
