Help me give my students book series to read. I have chosen popular series such as Nathan Hale's Hazardous Tales, Bad Guys, Big Nate, Wings of Fire, Princess Pulverizer, and more!
I work with a diverse set of students. I have students from low socio-economic backgrounds and students from more affluent backgrounds. I work with students that are gifted and talented, students that receive extra support, and students that have English as a second language. However different they are though, they are all in my classroom to learn and to be successful.
The thing I love most about my students is that they are hard workers.
They never give up in the face of challenge. I want to be able to support them in their efforts to grow and learn. By funding my project, you will also be able to help.
My Project
Current research shows that kids who read book series, read more. Additionally, kids who read series grow up to become adult readers as well. I have chosen several popular book series, including Wings of Fire, Bad Guy and Big Nate (to name a few). These are series that are constantly flying off the shelf and are always on hold in the library.
By adding these selections to our classroom, students will be able to read more of the series they love.
Fiction book series are great for many reasons. One of the reasons is that once kids read the first book in the series and like it, there are instantly more books from the rest of the series that they'll want to read! Another reason is that it is easier to develop more complex characters and plots which help capture kids' attention and interest and make them want to read more.
