My Students

One group of 28 scholars could not be more excited to learn and begin our non-fiction unit. They have been learning about different text structures for non-fiction and are in need of books that are set up in that text structure.

This poses a problem as we do not have a complete set of books for each text structure.

The children are eager to become experts learning about different non-fiction topics. There are never enough books for each of them to become non-fiction enthusiasts.

My Project

We have just started a nonfiction unit understanding the different text structures. The students have studied description and are about to move onto the text structures of compare and contrast as well as sequencing.

They need high interest books to be able to become experts in the particular text structure as well as on the particular topic they choose to study.

These books will give my children choice on what they want to create mini projects on, while being immersed in the different non-fiction text structures.

They will be able to take notes on a graphic organizer and turn those notes into summaries. Then will finally present their learning to their classmates.
