Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students attend a public Title I school in South Carolina. They are a great group of girls and boys that simply love coming to school and adore learning. My students have a passion for discovering new things and come to school daily hungry for more.
Our classroom is blessed with many diverse students, some who have learning disabilities, speak a foreign language and even a few who are newcomers to the United States.
It is our diverse population that makes us special and allows us to grow.
My Project
My students are in need of some basic school supplies that are not provided by our school or the district. We are in need of scissors, glue, pencil sharpeners, tissues, notebooks and erasers.
As a way to help students stay safe and healthy this school year I am hoping to obtain enough essential school supplies that students can have individual supplies, rather than having to share with each other, ultimately spreading germs.
These materials are some of the basic school supplies that every elementary classroom needs to be successful. With the 2020 school year fluctuating between in person and virtual lessons I am hoping to bring as much normalcy to these little learners as possible.
