This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Bring Sentence Diagramming Back! I teach 7th grade Language Arts in New Mexico. This will be my fourth year teaching (SY 2008-2009) and I am incredibly excited to start this next year out with sentence diagramming. I've always believed that public school students deserve the same basic tools and techniques as private school students. And that starts with the "elite" art of sentence diagramming. There is nothing elite about it -- it is the best and most fun way, in my opinion, to teach the fundamentals of grammar.

My former students have excelled with sentence diagramming and it really revealed itself in their writing. I just wish to give each of my students their own individual whiteboards, so we can practice without having to worry about returning the boards to the teacher I have been borrowing them from for the past two years.

Please help my classroom start off the school year with their own set of individual white boards and markers. It will truly help us!
