This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in our classroom all have significant learning needs. These range from intellectual disabilities to autism to even health impairments.

Our group of wonderful special learners spend days making me laugh and it is so exciting to watch them grow and make even the smallest gains in their lives.

I don't work alone, I have a wonderful team if assistants that work with me to help allow our students to not only work on their individualized learning goals but access as much of the general education curriculum as possible

My Project

Help my students fulfil their sensory needs.

These toys will allow for my students with autism to explore different sensory related activities in order to help regulate their body in the classroom.

These toys will provide students with an outlet or a choice in order to make themselves calm in the classroom so that they are able to make progress on their learning goals and goals related to their individualized academic plan. sensory exploration is such a vital part of the special education classroom and I hope to use these resources to expand my sensory activities bin!
