Help me give my students a variety of sensory tools to help with self-regulation. Self-regulation is taught in 1st grade, and my students need access to a choice of tools to help them.
My students are 1st graders who are kind, hard-working, and persevering. They have varying academic, social/emotional, and sensory needs. They work hard everyday to be the best learners they can be.
My students are unique learners who may be feeling the impacts of distance learning.
Our school is a Title 1 and AGR school. My students are eager to get back to school to continue learning!
My Project
For my students, social-emotional learning and self-regulation skills are constantly taught and reinforced. Sensory tools are important in helping with self-regulation.
My students need a variety of sensory tools so they can choose one that fits their unique sensory needs.
My students each have different needs, so having a choice of sensory tools will allow them to try out different tools, and see which one works best for them.
My students will be able to use these tools in the classroom in different ways. They will use them while they are listening to instruction and during independent work time to help with focus. They will also use them in our classroom "break area," for those students who need extra break time during the school day.
