I'm new to this school and am starting fresh with younger students after coming from a high school background. I now teach students with special needs from kindergarten to fifth grade. But with this switch comes some challenges.
I'm in dire need of younger, age appropriate, social skills and sensory materials.
These materials help my students, those with special needs, function in a regular classroom with their peers. I love my littles and I want to help them the best that I can!
My Project
Sensory tools help students with special needs self-regulate so they can function within special and general education settings. Nothing says "different" like being pulled out to go to a special ed classroom. But sensory tools can help a student stay in their regular classroom and learn.
In other words, these tools - that may look like toys - can work miracles to help students fit in AND succeed!
Sensory tools help students learn to self-regulate and manage their own feelings in the classroom. These tools help students to feel safe in their own skin and that helps them to learn.
