My students need sensory fidget toys to keep their hands busy while practicing speech and language skills. Some of my students have sensory delays and benefit from additional supports during instruction.

My Students
My students come from diverse backgrounds with varied communication abilities. They are vibrant and energetic preschoolers who sometimes display frustration and behaviors because they are not understood when they talk. The two developmentally delayed preschool classrooms I teach in have a range of communication abilities- little ones who are learning to talk (nonverbal) from little ones who struggle to say certain sounds.
Communication is essential for classroom and life success.
When it is such a challenge for some children, it is important to make learning fun and engaging! My preschool classrooms are filled with children who would benefit from the ability to talk and be understood. They are such loving children with so much joy and beauty. I'd love to see them have every opportunity to succeed.
My Project
Making learning fun is essential for the little ones I serve with developmental delays and autism. I can use the books and Melissa and Doug Toys with nonverbal students to promote language and play skills. I can use toys like the Crocodile Dentist with verbal students to provide reinforcement when practicing skills that are hard for them! The Lauri Photo Language Cards will help my students learn important nouns to better understand the world around them!
My students would benefit from the Sensory Fidgets Toys Bundle to keep their little hands busy so their brains can learn!
