Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at a Title 1 school in Massachusetts. Many of our students within the school come from low income homes within the city. I have 11 lovely students who suffer from a variety of neurological and developmental delays in a life skills classroom. My students love to sing, dance and have fun. My students come to school every day willing to do their best and try their hardest regardless of their adversities.
My students will benefit from your donations because it will enable them to be more successful in not only the classroom but in their everyday lives.Within our specialized program our students learn more than just academics, they are taught daily living skills, social skills, communication skills, gross and fine motor skills and so much more!

My Project
By donating to this project you will provide our classroom with items we need to help students who have sensory issues. Our classroom is unique in that they sometimes have issues with bright lights and loud noises.
By donating towards these items you will provide our class the opportunity to feel more comfortable within the classroom and outside the classroom at school events.
With your donation you will help our class get light covers to help the florescent lights in our classroom not be as bright, noise cancelling headphones for loud transitions and school events, and finally, you will help us get seat covers for students who need a little wiggle on their seats. The students will have better interactions and be more apart of the school community by being given the opportunity to have appropriate seating options, noise softening head phones, and accommodating their sensitivity to light within the classroom!
