I teach Pre-K at a Title I school in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
I have a classroom full of energized, confident, and tenderhearted 4-year olds.
These children bring so much joy to my life and I am committed to doing everything in my power to give them a quality education.
My students are like little sponges right now - they are growing and learning every day. Our class has come so far since the beginning of the year and I am so proud to be their teacher.
My Project
In my classroom, I have a very small amount of kinetic sand, yet it is a material that most children seek out. Unfortunately, the amount I have can only accommodate the needs of 1-2 children. I am requesting more kinetic sand so that I will have enough to accommodate 4 children, the average number of children in a center group. Additionally, I believe it is important to incorporate literacy into every center; therefore, I am requesting the wooden alphabet letters. Lastly, I try do reduce the amount of plastic used in my room to create a more natural feel within the classroom. Due to this, I am requesting metal buckets for students to store their center materials.
In prekindergarten, sensory experiences are essential for learning.
These materials will be used to draw on the senses of the students and heighten their learning experiences.
