Remember how much fun you had in Kindergarten? It was such a sensory experience! You moved, played games, met new friends, and learned more about the world around you! I want to create these sensory stations so students can feel and experience the world around them, and help to make learning fun!
My students are enthusiastic, and have a great love of learning!
It's our job in Kindergarten to inspire them, and enhance their love of learning because it's their first educational experience. These sensory stations will make learning fun and meaningful.
My Project
I've requested a variety of different textured items. These items will each go into their own Tupperware container. We'll put sight words, rhyming words, number match up cards, and many other games into these tupperware containers, and the students will have to reach in and dig through to match the cards, or play the game with the sight words. By doing this, the students get practice in whichever academic standard they are practicing, and it engages their other senses to make learning more meaningful.
This project will help make our classroom fun, and the learning meaningful for the students.
Imagine the fun they'll have digging through these materials to complete a puzzle, match a sight word, or to complete a math problem. It makes learning so fun when it's turned into a game! My students will love these sensory stations as they learn the essentials of reading and math.
