This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a specialized program for students with special needs. Our students have a variety of needs in addition to meeting their reading, mathematics, and writing. These individuals have needs in sensory, self-regulation, and routine. These are all areas that we provide structure and support for.

Our kids are amazing!

Our school is a Title I school; more than half of our student population come from low-income households. Any help and support for our students will go a long way!

My Project

These materials will meet our students' unique and individualized sensory needs. They need access to items that are specialized and created for students.

Each item will meet a specific need for a student!

The sensory ball pack and tangle fidgets will be a mode for us have teachable moments with our students to share items as well as to enhance communication. The bean bag will give our students a designated place to utilize the materials where they will learn to generalize learned regulation techniques.

All of these pieces together will be part of something amazing we are hoping to create! These items and the creation of this sensory space will give the students another place for us to teach initial communication skills. These items would be such a huge benefit for our kids!
