Our school is a small, multi grade level rural, alternative school in Central Idaho. Within the school complex we serve at risk students and those students that are behaviorally challenged. The economy has been struggling for years. This has made funding things difficult. In hard times, we need to get creative to make it happen for our students. We look for other ways to meet our students' needs
This year has been stressful and a great challenge for all our students and faculty.
The chaos of this year and the pandemic has added to the insecurity for our students. There are special sensory items that we need to help some of our students to cope with their anxiety and emotions.
My Project
Our students have a variety of sensory needs and find sitting in a traditional classroom does not effectively work for them. They need things like light filters, wiggle seats, and wiggle pens to meet their sensory needs daily. The wiggles, giggles and visual input is somethings that we need to provide so that my students will be successful.
Our kids are worth the time and effort that we invest in them.
The are our light and why we come day to day during these trying times. We can impact them in positive ways. Their time with us will mold and develop who they become.
