I am blessed to have the opportunity to work with a great group of students who happen to have profound physical and cognitive disabilities. My students are always focusing on their abilities rather than their disabilities.
The majority of my students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Most of the materials my students have are from me purchasing myself. My students really brighten my day! They are so appreciative and really would benefit from your assistance. Thank you so much for reading about our project.
My Project
This project will make a difference in my classroom because the items that I have chosen will meet a variety of sensory needs of my students.
The lighting and music will create a calming environment in my classroom for the students.
The therapy putty, sand, and water beads will help my students calm down and stimulate their senses. The visual timer will assist the students who need visual reinforcement.
The other sensory items that I have included can also be used to help with communication skills. Also, the sensory items can help lessen distress and redirect behavior to have a productive day in the classroom.
