Help me give my students sensory play item such as beads, kinetic sand, speedy snow, and magic marbles along with some toys to play with in the sensory table and a light table tray.
My Pre-K students are very busy 4 and 5 year olds. We have learning centers every day, so that students can learn as they play.
My Pre-K classroom is a blend of general education, special education, and English as a Second Language students.
They come from a wide variety of backgrounds and many come from low-income families. However, we are a high-performing school that is eager to inspire the love of learning at an early age! For many of my students it is their first school experience.
From the first day forward, I aim to create a strong foundation for each student's education and instill a joy of learning, so that they continue on with positive experiences.
My Project
Students have free choice centers every day. One of their favorite centers is the sensory table. The materials in this project will provide learning experiences for students at the sensory table. Sensory play helps students develop the ability to process and communicate what they experience with their senses.
Sensory play encourages children's natural curiosity while students play, create, investigate and explore.
The dinosaur excavation set will be a blast to use in the sand when learn about dinosaurs. Students will enjoy making blue kinetic sand ice cream, searching for Float & Find Letters in water, playing with the sensory beads and magic beads in the light table tray. With the Speedy Snow it is fun to experience what snow is like, even in the Texas heat. These materials are sure to make student sensory experiences even better!
