My Project

I currently teach 24 kindergarten students. We are a Title I district where more than 70% of our students are from low-income homes.

In order to give my students the tools necessary to make them successful in the classroom, I believe that it is important to provide them with flexible seating options.

I currently have students in my classroom with sensory issues and busy bodies who could benefit from things such as wobble cushions and bouncy bands for their chairs. In kindergarten, sitting still can be a big task. Giving my students a variety of ways to keep themselves moving without actually being 'on the move' would be a game changer in the classroom. This would minimize disruptions and allow for better focus for my students.
