My students attend public school in an impoverished, Title I setting in Orange County. They are very eager to play and learn, and school is often the only place where they can explore and learn about the world they live in. The very first years of school are very important and providing our students with sufficient materials inside of the classroom is essential. My students love to play and participate in a variety of learning activities and are always eager to learn new things.
Students will learn to share, take turns and practice their language and social skills as they learn and play with the sensory sand.
As students play, they are able to use their communication skills and practice developing their social skills as they work and play with other students.
Transitional Kindergarten is an amazing and important part of a student's education. TK is where they learn so many new skills for the first time and learning how to use those skills can be fun!
Students in TK will have access to the sand table each day during their high scope learning time.
