My students need sensory items for our new sensory room including a sandbox filled with kinetic sand, a sensory LED bubble tube with changing colors, gel exercise mats, and more to help with self-regulation skills!
This school is filled with energetic, loving, and caring students who believe school is a safe place to learn and be themselves. We have a significant amount of students in poverty. They look forward to coming to school and being with supportive and loving staff. They have big dreams, but need the resources to help them get there!
Sometimes our school struggles to get the resources we need to help our students regulate their emotions.
We are looking for sensory tools and materials to help our students self-regulate and cope safely and appropriately. Help them find a way to create connections with staff and peers and regulate their emotions in a healthy way!
My Project
We are requesting donations for a 3 foot LED color changing bubble lamp with fish for stimulation and mindfulness, a 6 foot pop up tube to give our students a quiet space to crawl into and hide for a few minutes to practice coping tools such as deep breathing. We would also like a sand box filled with kinetic sand and toys, magnet tiles, liquid gel floor tiles/exercise mats, and a hanging swing. You can just imagine now--a sensory room in our school for our students to access for ten minutes to calm down, relax, and refocus so they can get back to their classroom.
These sensory items will allow our students to get back to their baseline so they can get back into the classroom ready to learn!
