My students need sensory experiences to develop a foundation for learning skills. Young children learn best through their senses. These sensory toys and books will help my students develop both physical and cognitive skills.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are between ages 3-5 enrolled in a prek program for children with disabilities. They are always on the go and love to learn! My students come in each day excited to explore and engage in the classroom.
My students do not let their disability get in the way of just being a kid exploring the classroom.
They love hands on activities and are always ready to have fun! I learn just as much from them as they do from me!
My Project
Sensory play is vitally important in early childhood particularly for children with special needs. Children learn best through their senses. When they use touch, smell, sight, and hearing students are better able to process information in their environment. Having these sensory materials available will greatly enhance my students school experience! Preschoolers love to engage with sensory materials!
Sensory play in early childhood lays a crucial foundation for later learning skills.
Learning to discover, classify and sort information through sensory play enables children to retain and recall more effectively. Having sensory materials in my classroom will make a huge difference in my students learning!
