Sensory Needs

Help me give my students a classroom where the bright lights do not bother them, something wonderful to look at when they need a sensory break and a floor lamp when the lights are turned off!

My Students

Our elementary school sits in an inner-city district and is a Title I school. One hundred percent of our school receives free breakfast and lunch. My school has such a positive and supportive learning environment!

My students have a wide variety of interests and needs.

When my students come to my classroom they often ask for the lights to be off. Many of my students have autism and are very sensitive to the fluorescent lights in the building. Light covers would greatly reduce the bright fluorescent lights without needing to turn them off

My Project

I have students who come into my classroom and immediately ask to turn off the lights because the bright classroom lights can be too much for them!! The light covers will allow us to keep the lights turned on and the floor lamp will help when my kids do not want the lights on at all. My kids also love sensory breaks! They love to jump on a trampoline, play with beans and sand as well as watch different items. These will help my kiddos when they do need a sensory break :)
