My Students
My students have Autism. Our school is in an inner-city, low income neighborhood in North Miami, Florida. Our school has 99% of the students on free or reduced lunch. I have a classroom of 4th and 5th graders.
Teaching students with autism is challenging, but very rewarding.
They require modifications, accommodations and a lot of teacher assistance to reach their academic goals. What I love most about my students is that they love to come to school to learn. They are each uniquely different and special in many ways.
My Project
The wobble chairs will be used throughout the classroom as needed for my students that have difficulty sitting. They will be great for helping them to stay focused on their work and to complete their tasks.
My students will be able to sit, wiggle, and fidget on these nifty chairs while they are working.
These chairs will be a great addition to my classroom where some of my students have the need to move at all times. The weighted blanket will be used in our safe space area to provide that deep pressure that students with Autism sometimes need or want.
