My preschool students have diverse backgrounds and exhibit a variety of special needs as well as delayed speech and language skills.
These young students inspire me as they remain persistent, energetic, creative, and full of joy and love!
They overcome obstacles everyday in their communication skills, and I am often left in awe that I get to witness so much of their progress. Would you consider fostering their communication skills further by donating to our cause? We are ALL wonders!
My Project
Sensory play is important in child development. A sensory table is a great tactile experience for young children and gives so many language and learning opportunities.
I use sensory activities in speech therapy because it is so versatile and increases engagement and interaction with my students.
I like to use sensory bins for seasonal and themed activities. I plan to place small figurines, cards and even household objects in the table for students to find to elicit targeted communication skills. A sensory table can also be used in co-treatment therapy sessions with OT and PT for fine and gross motor.
