My Students

Enthusiastic, excited faces greet me every morning. It always makes me smile, and it is my goal to make them feel safe, important, and eager to learn. Teaching in a low income school district can be a challenge. The children are faced with many obstacles in and out of the classroom. At the end of the day when they ask what we will be learning about tomorrow, the look of anticipation is priceless. Preschool age children absorb like a sponge. Teaching them positive goals is my mission.

My Project

The students in my classroom like to manipulate and explore with their hands. The water table that we are asking for will be used in many different ways. Not only will we use water in the table, we will use sand, rice, flour, beans, and corn meal at different times.

The water table will be used to view the items that we will find in our Nature Walk, such as, leaves, acorns, pecans, seeds, feathers, and flowers.

The children may use magnifying glasses to examine these items.

We can also use the water table to conduct science experiments by making a volcano, slime, and mixing primary colors to make secondary colors. The uses for this table are endless.
