The students in my Pre-K classroom are active eager learners ranging from ages two to three years old, who have developmental delays in one or more areas of their development. I want my students to have what they need to enhance their overall development as they grow. The students are all amazing in their own ways! I cannot say enough how much I absolutely love going to work every day BECAUSE OF THESE CHILDREN! My students all have families that do their best to provide their child with a wonderful life. My main goal for my students is INDEPENDENCE! I want each and every student that I teach to become independent not only academically, but also personally, socially, and emotionally. My students are my WHY in life. These students are excited and eager to explore the world around them.
My Project
We need sensory materials which provide the particular sensory input many children with autism and other needs crave. While not distracting other students in the classroom, these materials will help children meet their needs. With your generous donation, you will be helping all children present and future reach their fullest potential and address the challenges of autism and special needs.
Sensory toys have the power to captivate the attention of the students in my classroom.
We are requesting sensory paint, sight and sound tubes, light table pegs and more. The sensory dough and foam paint will be used in the sensory center so if a student is feeling frustrated and needs an area to calm downing. It will also be used during art. The rainstick will provide soothing sounds and the magnetic fishing set will help students develop motor skills and eye-hand coordination.
