Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are the Primary Autism Mindcraft Wonder Room. We are a title I, turn around school. Seeking Sensory items to help our students be successful in their creative way that works best for their individual learning needs. Each student has different sensory needs, the items we need are to help with these needs, wobbly stool for sitting, weighted pencil to build their writing, lacing other games to help with fine motor skills, light covers to help with sensory needs, etc.
Our students are caring, loving and very intelligent.
We go by our class motto "I am SMART, I am BEAUTIFUL/HANDSOME, I can DO it!"They use the class motto to work on areas they often struggle with, especially sensory needs.
Autism is a gift, each student has their unique learning style. For some of our students it takes more time and for others, it's a one-shot deal, but no matter what they are all creative in the way that works for them.
The alternative setting, writing tools, lighting and other sensory items are a key component to unlocking their minds and make learning less stressful.
My Project
The alternative writing tools, lighting, and other sensory items are a key component to unlocking their minds and make learning less stressful. Mindcraft wonders Self-Contained Autism class is in need of your support to help build their learning in the way that is best for their needs. Using creative sensory input into their learning, it helps build the fine/gross motor skills most of the students lack in a calming learning environment. This will help them to be able to strive in their own individual learning style which allows them to be themselves in the process if it is alternative setting, writing support, lighting and other engagement skills that suits their learning needs. Sensory learning is a huge step into academic learning for our students, so integrating sensory learning will help them grow academically in the long run. Please support our amazing Mindcraft Wonder students!
