I teach a group of 26 enthusiastic public school third graders who live in a suburban neighborhood of California.
They have varying abilities and learning styles, along with specific educational needs.
What makes them all similar is their sense of wonder, their curious nature and their quest to explore their world. They are constantly asking "How?" and "Why?" and they live in a constant state of wide eyed wonderment. I have the privilege and joy of working with them on a daily basis.
My Project
The longer I teach, the more I realize that there are so many unique learners and each has their own special educational needs. I have accumulated many tools over the course of time, but feel that I am lacking in materials that support the sensory learner. The materials from this project will directly support this type of student.
Students with special needs require special tools.
The Noise Blocking Ear Muffs, Bouncy Bands, balance ball, and Liquid Motion Bubble Timer will be available to the students who may require more, or less, stimulation from the classroom environment. The Cinematic Light Box and wireless presentation tool will be used for added visual and auditory support.
I have many students who would benefit from these materials and look forward to being able to offer them in my teaching.
