I am a first year teacher and know the importance of a homelike and friendly working environment for learners. In order to make my learners feel at home I do not want them to feel inadequately prepared for school and like they are not ready to learn. I want to give these student the ability to open their minds to all of the possibilities that they can have. I am going to be their biggest cheerleader and coach all in one person. I am looking for some support to buy my student sensory items and a swing.
All children can learn if strongly supported and enthusiastically encouraged.
I believe when a learning environment with high expectations of achievement is introduced, perpetuated by the classroom teacher and supported by the school and community, students cultivate an "I CAN do it" attitude and perform to and beyond expectations despite challenges they may face.
My Project
My students are very high in the need for sensory integration and with generous donations I will be able to provide several options for my students. I am looking at providing flexible seating, sensory items/toys, ect.
I have lots of items for my classroom but I want to ensure that I have places for my students to calm their bodies in an appropriate way whether that be through the use of a swing, tent, and sitting on a different chair.
I want to have the opportunity to try this out with my students.
Each student will hold a special place in my heart and I want to be able to provide that for them. Thank you so much for helping us.
