Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I plan to use these items in my calming corner space. This is a space where students go when they feel unregulated in the classroom or other school locations ( Art, Assemblies, Music, PE, Lunch). The program at our school serves students Kindergarten through 5th grade. There is currently 12 students in the program.

Currently the calming corner consists of bean bags, mats, rugs, and flip sequined pillows, these items like the larger bean bag, magnetic pattern blocks and marble run would be a good addition to the self regulation strategies these students already have.

Many of our students need sensory output, putting things together/ taking apart, feeling, and building to help regulate them so that they are ready to learn and have a balanced education.
