My Project

These materials are to make my classroom more sensory-friendly with lighting and fidgets to help neurodiverse students receiving special education services who also need math materials to help them develop their skills.

Many students find the basic classroom lighting and setup to be harsh and not conducive to success with their learning.

Additionally, fidgets help with focus and taking out excess energy.

We have a diverse student body and books that help explain differences are fantastic for Autistic students and those that have developmental disabilities. My students have a variety of disabilities from ADHD, Autism, dyslexia, developmental disabilities and others. Most are children of color, and many are first or second-generation Americans.
