This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Creating a sensory friendly environment where they would have access to soft-sponge dividers and a calm down tent would provide sensory interventions. After COVID-19, there has been an increase in need for sensory interventions for our students when they are faced with increased noise, light, and smell stimulation.

White noise, limited florescent lighting, and air purification is imperative as it effects 3 major senses: sound, sight, and smell.

Being able to create a sensory friendly classroom would help my students be able to enter the classroom with ease after inconsistencies brought on by COVID-19.
